Previous posts , All our test results are directly output to PyCharm Console . This is not good for us to view and save the test results . In this article, we will show how to use HTMLTestRunner Generate HTML Test report .

The preparations are as follows .

  • download HTMLTestRunner.py file , The official website is Python 2 Of , If you need Python 3 You can move to the end of this article .
  • take HTMLTestRunner.py File copy to Python Install under directory Lib In the folder .
  • stay Python Import modules in interactive mode , Test success .

No report error , The import is successful . Next , Let's create a new one under the folder Python Package, And named it “Storm_10_2”. Then create a new 3 File , The file name and contents are as follows :
file test1.py:

import unittest

class MyTestCase(unittest.TestCase):
    def test_a(self):
        print('test_a')
        self.assertEqual('a', 'a')

    def test_b(self):
        print('test_b')
        self.assertEqual('b', 'b')

if __name__ == '__main__':
    unittest.main()

file test2.py:

import unittest

class MyTestCase(unittest.TestCase):
    def test_c(self):
        print('test_c')
        self.assertEqual('c', 'c')

    def test_d(self):
        print('test_d')
        self.assertEqual('d', 'd')

if __name__ == '__main__':
    unittest.main()

file run.py

import unittest
import HTMLTestRunner

if __name__ == '__main__':
    testsuite = unittest.TestLoader().discover('.')
    unittest.TextTestRunner(verbosity=2).run(testsuite)
    file_name = r'D:\HTMLTestRunner_output.html'
    with open(file_name, 'wb') as f:
        runner = HTMLTestRunner.HTMLTestRunner(stream=f, title=' Report title ', description=' Report description ')
        runner.run(testsuite)

Let's focus on run.py file , There are several points to note :

  • adopt unittest.TestLoader().discover('.') Construct test set .
  • adopt with open The way to open 、 write file , There is no need to close the file manually .
  • By calling HTMLTestRunner.HTMLTestRunner To generate test reports .

When we execute run.py After the document , The program will be in the specified directory ( The directory specified by the above code is D Packing list ) Next, generate a test report file , We open it through a browser :
 Test report

The official website mentioned above HTMLTestRunner.py File for Python 2 Of ,Python 3 The following code can be directly copied from version :

"""
A TestRunner for use with the Python unit testing framework. It
generates a HTML report to show the result at a glance.

The simplest way to use this is to invoke its main method. E.g.

    import unittest
    import HTMLTestRunner

    ... define your tests ...

    if __name__ == '__main__':
        HTMLTestRunner.main()

For more customization options, instantiates a HTMLTestRunner object.
HTMLTestRunner is a counterpart to unittest's TextTestRunner. E.g.

    # output to a file
    fp = file('my_report.html', 'wb')
    runner = HTMLTestRunner.HTMLTestRunner(
                stream=fp,
                title='My unit test',
                description='This demonstrates the report output by HTMLTestRunner.'
                )

    # Use an external stylesheet.
    # See the Template_mixin class for more customizable options
    runner.STYLESHEET_TMPL = '<link rel="stylesheet" href="my_stylesheet.css" type="text/css">'

    # run the test
    runner.run(my_test_suite)
